This department covers a wide variety of items with vast and diverse areas for collectors. Postcards were prevalent from Edwardian times up to the 1960's. Their heyday was up to and including the first world war and the subjects they covered varied from greetings, valentines, transport, military, topographical, humour and glamour. Raphael Tuck, Ralph Kirchner, Mabel Lucy Attwell are just a few of the collectable postcard artists. Stamps are becoming less collected, but Empire, dominions, British and Chinese examples can be highly sought after, unlike modern first day covers!
Coins especially gold and silver are always well sought after from anywhere in the world. Early hammered silver coins from medieval to Elizabethan times are particularly popular. That and with certain dates on certain coins can make the ordinary coin unusual and possibly valuable.
