BERNARD CASPAR HARDY (1726-1819)
A pair of late 18th or early 19th century wax studies of a seated Russian gentleman in a red robe with a bowl on his knee, and a lady carrying wearing a bonnet and shawl stitching a garment, both framed and glazed, 30 x 25cm.
Hardy worked in Cologne at the turn of the 18th century, he is considered one of the finest exponents of his craft Two comparable works are in the collection of the Victoria and Albert museum.
